Topic: Medium shield generators, worse stats than a small one.

Not a overly important thing to fix atm, but figured I'd mention it anyway.
Currently medium shield generators take up 5x or more cpu/core and 3x or more power per cycle. However both the small and large offer the exact same level of defense. (AP/HP ratio.) Unless I'm missing something (And I may well be.) I see no reason why a medium would ever be used.

Re: Medium shield generators, worse stats than a small one.

When you check their info from the market, the absorption ratio is indeed the same for both. But if you fit them on a robot you'll quickly see the difference. This is because the size of the robot is factored into the calculation.

If you put a small shield module on a heavy mech, it will have a hard time encompassing the volume it was not designed for, it will need much more energy and becomes inefficient to use (think of like 3 AP/HP, that is 3 points of energy drained for every hitpoint). But it is easy to fit at least.

Likewise, if you manage to fit a medium shield generator on a light or assault bot (and you still manage to fit anything useful beside it smile ), then you'll have a pretty cool absorption ratio.

ah yes i get it and the med shield on the light bot would make your surface area more so even heavy mechs can easly hit you little bot

I never would have guessed this... But good to know.
