Topic: Looking for a post-reset Corp

I expect that there will be a reset geared towards leveling the playing field so that more people take part in PvP testing.  Towards this end, I am beginning to look for a corp.

1) The corp must be pvp minded and require TS. Not just have TS available, but actively require their members to use it and for them to have mics.
2) I generally play US timezones, but am not afraid of alarm clock ops if there is something very interesting going on.
3) The corp will be based out of a Beta Terminal/Outpost.
4) If the corp has an industrial component - that component is located in a separate corp. As this game does not have corp contracts, a simple chat channel that is available to both halves could be set up for the purposes of buying and selling.   I am far more interested in knowing the pvp strength of a corp than just the number of members.

I know that there is M2S that very likely fits these... and nothing against them, but I'm more interested in seeing a rival corp formed so that there is a chance for actual fights.  One sided fights/ganks do not interest me.  At least not until the opportunity arises to gank something like a Titan.

Oh god, let it be true!

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

Well, when ALL the PvPers want to join the only corp that is dedicated to pvping.....   everyone loses.  I know that M2S likes to blame others for not pvping - but seriously, maybe the corp should split into 2 pvp corps, Red v Blue style.

Or maybe the rest of the server shouldn't be afraid to grow a pair and risk their virtual pixels in a beta where it's going to get wiped anyway!

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

I am with you on this one Diplomat would really like to join a rival corp it could make things a lot more interesting

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

I got spies everywhere, and as far i can see from PW, there is only 5-6 players in whole corp that show promice.

You realy need to start working together with people. you play MMO like you are damn hermits in exile.

you don't need to join a rival corp. No matter in which corp you are or not, you are rival anyway. Just use teleporter to beta island /thread.

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

Is M2S really so scared of a rival which demonstrates how much of a Paper Tiger you guys are?

A lot can be said about a corp who's members join because they want to be part of the strongest pvp in town, even if that means that the only pvp in town is ganking noobs.

It's true that a lot of players aren't nearly as much into pvp as I'd like to see, mostly this is the fault of the Devs for waiting so long before putting focus upon PVP.  Regardless, I expect that as soon as the Outposts are desirable to control, it won't be long before M2S is relegated to a pirate role that tries to gank solo travelers through Beta.

In this case, "noobs" pretty much sums up the entire server..that and cry babies. I honestly can't believe how whiny, *** and childish most of the people in perpetuum are. For a pvp centric game it attracted a LOT of carebears and retards.

Case in point -> this thread.

Going to try and be civil with this post. But as far as calling us paper tigers... well that's rather amusing. I suppose that would make the other corps afraid of paper cuts? Believe it or not, most if not all of us would love a rival corp, with some pvp skill. Sadly we haven't had one in quite some time. (Some would debate if they could even be considered rivals.)

I have no doubt that one day a corp/alliance will come along with such zerg-like numbers, that we can no longer win head-on battles regularly. Regardless of our skills. At which time we'll go back to being pirates (What we started as.) instead of our current role as world dictators. I would prefer skilled players over zerg players. The epic battles over the last week or so have showed it takes a LOT of numbers to compensate for lack of skill. Nonetheless... It will likely happen. Eventually...

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

tongue I love M2S.

It should have been apparent that my riling wasn't aimed towards you guys.  Think of it as my attempt to rally others to the cause.

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

come join us all spies welcome as long as they keep giving us stuff we dont care

the executive see PW as a 2nd teir recruitment channel not an actual corp tongue

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

I looked at your corp - no TS.  Or, at least, TS isn't important enough to put on the Corp info page/requirements.

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

you are right most of the corp dont use our vent but the active ones do
in fact i find it impossible to play online without vent

I get a very different vibe from you, many of your posts are pure flaming of M2S. (Hax, noobs, sploits... ok you got us on that last one.) While in others are all buddy buddy.

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

M2S does present itself as a corp based on using exploits, trolling players, ganking noobs.  The corp itself is "hated" by a large portion of the member base, and I dare say that the hate is actually desired by M2S members.

I think that it's a good thing for the game for part of it's userbase to play the part of "the bad guys".  The only way this game is going to succeed is if people can work themselves into a few different factions and fight over control of the map....  and the only way people will ever divide into different factions is if there is a "bad guy".

But it's also frustrating when the "opportunity to throw the self proclaimed Kings, off of the Hill" disappears because those Kings run away when the slope becomes a little less steep.  All the while, those Kings are crying out "Yea we could easily have continued winning, even with the less steep hill, if only we wanted to stay".

TLDR: You guys really are the bad guys of this game, and I believe that the role is not only important - but crucial to the survival of the game... but damn, it's pretty frustrating nonetheless.

We arn't quiting the game. Nor are we against the full wipe at release. We're just going on hiatus for the time between now and launch. (Most of us anyway, not all.) What I don't understand is why you can't understand something so simple.

Weather now or launch, it's the same damn thing. Only launch has actual lasting meaning to doing something.

Re: Looking for a post-reset Corp

It isn't that I don't understand it - it's that I perceive likely benefits from having you guys stick around for the "real beta".

Anyways, I'm still hoping someone is thinking of putting together a pure pvp corp.  I do not believe that this game offers real incentives, at this point, to put industrialists and pvpers into the same corps.  There is too much attribute swings between industrialists and combatants, to really make a mixed character effectively - and there is no difference between buying from a corp member or non corp member.
